Why Dogs are Better than Cats

They say cats are better housepets than dogs because their owners don't have to exert much effort in taking care of them. But the question is; are the benefits of having cats as housepets as beneficial as having dogs? As what the saying goes, " A dog is a man's bestfriend." Although people oppose of having a dog since they need to make time for this animal, its actually nice to have a dog as a housepet.    First of all, dogs give pure emotions to their owners. They are very affectionate to people they love and trust. Just like a human child, they would come running to their owners when they arrived for an errand or from a walk. With the emotions that they give to their owners, it made those people feel loved, important and happy. Cats can show love and bond with their owners but it is more often at arms length. According to an article written by Jacqueline Bennett, dog owners are less likely to suffer depression. It is quite hard to stay down when taking care of

The Soul of the Great Bell: A Story Told and Reflected

Image
Introduction The story the “ Soul of the Great Bell” is a Chinese Legend retold in English by an American Journalist, Lafcadio Hearn. Though he had a hard time understanding the Chinese language, it didn’t stop him from completing the tale. The story somehow ignited my thirst of knowledge for the traditions and cultures of China or in other words, my curiosity about my ancestors’ background took over me as I read the story but then I realized, I don’t have to look up that much of information in the internet because it is already in the story. It may not be many but its enough. I can clearly notice how the emperor or the ruler was called by the people and how the bell is an important  history to the people In this blog, I will be writing, or in this case typing, down the traditions and beliefs practiced in the story that the Chinese people applied years ago and their origin. It may contain some of my opinions and how I felt about the story. I will show you why it caught

English Language

In the Philippines, we have two official languages, which are Filipino and English. Filipino is our first language while English is our second. Most people here in our country uses the English language whether they are conversing to one another or sending messages. Why is this language so important that it became our second language and is used by everyone?     In today's business world, English is the foremost language all over the world. When working abroad, knowing how to speak in English is an advantage because you can get more job opportunities, The English language is increasingly used as the primary language in political and business field because it is the only language that all of us can understand even though we have a different race. Too Late to Fall in Love

I am Celestia Lao and I am not like any normal child out there. I have this special talent that no one possesses. I can see and control things that others can't. I am what they call, different and weird. I didn't fit in, I don't have any friends or companions because I am, as what they also call me, crazy. I only warned them but they didn't listen to me and called me mad for thinking such thing. We are not alone in the world we are living in. "Hey, if it isn't Celestia 'Mad' Lao. Can you please look if I don't have "someone" following me?" a boy in the corridor shouted as I walk passed him. I hung my head as low as I can, my hair covering everyone in sight. Everyone's laughing but "they're" all wearing the same face, whispering as I walked through the laughing crowd. Should I or should I not?  I asked myself for how many times today. No, don't Celestia, "they" already told you to stop. But th
